Nutrition : Keep Things Simple

NUTRITION: KEEP THINGS SIMPLE

1 HABIT AT A TIME

1 MEAL AT A TIME

Want to improve your eating habits?

Not sure where to start?

I believe we should keep things simple and not over complicate the process of changing eating habits.

Often we try to change too much too soon, which makes it difficult and unrealistic to achieve long term.

How about focusing on changing one meal of the day?

You could gradually improve that one meal over the course of a few weeks until it’s a habit and you’re consistently eating a healthy balanced meal.

For example you could start with breakfast...

By concentrating on that one meal per day you can identify areas of improvement and what strategies will be needed to be put in place.

For Breakfast do you eat/drink or do the following

🍳 Protein

🍎 Veggies or fruits

🍅 Less processed foods

🌽 Nutrient-dense, whole foods

💦 Water

eating in a calmer, more relaxed setting,

and/or

eating more slowly and mindfully (I need to work on this one!!)

Don’t panic if you’re not doing all the above right now you can work on it gradually...

For example

Right now you might just be eating a piece of toast in the morning before you dash out to work....

You could first work on including more protein

Add a poached or scrambled egg to the toast.

Haven’t got time for this?

Then think about what prep will need to be done to allow for more protein at breakfast.

You might whisk up some eggs in a bowl and leave in the fridge over night, ready to throw in the pan.

You could boil some eggs the night before, ready for boiled eggs on toast.

Eating healthy can fit in with your lifestyle!!

Once you’ve got a super healthy breakfast and it’s a HABIT

Work on the next meal.

It’s much better to keep things simple and over time by making the small changes you’ll see the difference.
